Understanding Towing Procedures

When I started driving, I realized that I didn't really know what to do if something bad happened on the road. About three weeks after I realized that, something did. I was driving when one of my tires went flat and sent me careening out of control. After I finally got the car to a stop, I contact towing services for a little help. With their help, I was able to get back to work, get my car fixed, and learn more about what they had to offer. That experience taught me several valuable lessons, which is why I made this blog.

Own Your Own Tow Truck? 2 Ways You Can Keep The Interior Clean For Your Riders

If you own your own tow truck. like those at Jenwar Towing & Recovery, you need to make sure you always keep it clean. This is because customers will often ride with you when you take their car to the destination. It can make a bad impression on them if they step into your truck and see that it is dirty. Below is some information on how to clean the upholstery and the carpeting.

Upholstery

Hire a company to make seat covers for your tow truck. They can make the covers that are designed to fit the specific model and make of your truck. You can also choose from different colors. You could choose a color that blends in with the current color of the upholstery. If the current upholstery is a light color it will get dirtier easier so choose a darker seat cover. When you notice the covers are starting to look dirty, you can simply remove them and clean them either by hand or in a washing machine, depending on the fabric. Ask the manufacturer on the best way to clean them.

You should also put a fabric protectant on the upholstery. You can take your truck to the manufacturer to have this protectant put on the upholstery, or you can purchase spray protectants at auto parts stores. If you currently have any stains on the upholstery, have it professionally cleaned before the protectant is put on. Ask the manufacturer or refer to the instructions of the spray protectant you purchase on how often it needs to be reapplied.

Carpeting

You also need to make sure the carpeting is clean in your truck. Before you start, vacuum it out. If you have any stains, you can try to remove them on your own.  For general cleaning and small stains, purchase a carpet cleaner at the store. Follow the directions on how to use it. If you want to make your own cleaner, fill a spray bottle with half water and half vinegar and add a few drops of dish detergent. Shake well to mix. Spray the mixture on the carpet and let it sit for about 30 minutes. After this time, scrub it with a rag and then vacuum.

Because you work with vehicles, you could have grease stains on the carpeting from your feet. You can purchase a degreaser cleaning product to clean these stains. Follow the directions on how to use it properly. You can also make your own cleaner if you prefer. Fill up a spray bottle with warm water and add a few drops of grease-fighting dish soap. Shake the bottle up to mix everything together. Spray the mixture on the grease stains until they are saturated. Wait for about 30 minutes and blog the stain with a damp cloth. Keep repeating this until the stain is removed.

Take your tow truck to a professional cleaner if you cannot get it clean on your own. They can also make sure the inside has no odors. You need to take your truck to a mechanic to have it serviced periodically, such as tune-ups and oil changes.
